Privacy Policy

5857 Inc. (“5857,” “we,” “us”) builds games, music, and books meant to bring people together. This policy explains how we handle information across our apps — see the current lineup on our Games page — and this website, 5857.ca.

We built these products to work offline and keep information on your device rather than collect it. If that changes for any product, we’ll update this policy, and the change will apply going forward, not retroactively.

Information We Collect

Our apps are designed to require no account, login, or personal information to use.

Game statistics, settings, and history (things like hands played, win rate, or preferences) are stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. This information stays on your device — we do not receive it, transmit it to our servers, or share it with anyone, because we don’t operate servers that collect it.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in our apps. The 5857.ca website does not use tracking cookies or run advertising.

In-App Purchases

5857 Inc. offers a range of games with different purchase models. Some games are free to download and fully playable, with an optional one-time “Support 5857 Inc.” purchase that helps fund future games and keeps the app ad-free — supporting is never required to play. Other games include additional content that can be unlocked through an in-app purchase. In every case, purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information — that’s handled under Apple’s own privacy policy and App Store Terms.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and none of our current apps are directed at children or require any personal information to play — see Games for our current lineup.

If we release an app designed for younger players, we will update this policy with the specifics before that app becomes available, and it will be built in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations — no accounts, no chat or communication features, no links to external websites, app stores, or purchase flows accessible to a child, and any settings that could affect privacy or purchases gated behind a parent or guardian.

Data Security

Because game data and settings stay on your device rather than passing through our servers, the security of that information is primarily governed by your device’s own security (passcode, encryption, and so on). We recommend keeping your device’s operating system up to date.

Your Choices

Since we don’t collect personal data, there’s generally nothing to request, correct, or delete on our end. You can clear an app’s locally stored data at any time by deleting and reinstalling it, or through your device’s app settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our products evolve. Material changes will be reflected with a new effective date above. Continued use of our apps or website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
